About the Author
Who was Mazhar Kaleem?
Mazhar Nawaz Khan, better known as Mazhar Kaleem MA, was a great novelist, story writer, radio broadcaster, and columnist. He made a name for himself in detective novels and children's stories. He authored hundreds of books that survived his death.
Early Life
Mazhar Kaleem MA was born on July 22, 1942, in a town in the vicinity of Multan. His father, Hamid Yar Khan, was a police officer, and most of his family members joined the army and police service. Mazhar Kaleem MA belonged to the Muhammadzai tribe in the Durrani Pathans, who came from Afghanistan and settled in the Punjab province.
Education
After his primary education, Mazhar Kaleem entered Islamia High School, Daulat Gate, Multan. In 1957, he matriculated in the first grade. After that, he passed Intermediate and graduated from Emerson College, Multan.
When Punjab University started its campus in Multan, Mazhar entered the first class and passed MA Urdu. Later, he obtained an LLB degree from Punjab University and started his practice in 1978. He continued his legal counsel as a senior lawyer in the Lahore High Court Multan Bench till the end of his life.
About Imran Series
Mazhar Kaleem MA's Imran series includes more than 400 novels. After the death of Ibn Safi, he started writing and reached his peak. It gave Mazhar Nawaz a lot of fame and readers. He introduced many new characters in the Imran series, such as Captain Shakeel, Tanveer, Joseph, Tiger, Juliana, and Saleh. He presented a new picture of Ali Imran, who is the hero and main character of the Imran series through Mazhar Kaleem. Ali Imran had some strange qualities and intelligence that could solve all problems in a short time. He knew everything like art, science, history, and multilingualism.
The Imran series has become so popular that readers are waiting for its next installments. It teaches young people a lesson in patriotism, courage, loyalty, and bravery. In addition, it contains a wealth of information on international affairs and the world to come. Kaleem played a role in educating the youth through the Imran series.
Death
On May 26, 2018, at the age of 75, he passed away and left thousands of his fans in tears. His funeral prayers were offered near his residence and he was buried in Multan Cemetery. May Allah grant him peace. Ameen!
